Mechanical Merry Go Round Wooden Model Kit
Romantic Carousel Dream is a 3D wooden puzzle that assembles into a working merry go round. It reproduces a real fairground mechanism, so the inner ring of horses turns in the opposite direction to the outer stage while the tune plays. Nothing is glued to a motor, the whole thing runs off a wind-up spring and gear train.
Counter Rotating Carousel Mechanism
Wind the spring at the base and two geared rings drive against each other. The horses on the inner platform sweep one way, the decorated outer stage sweeps the other, and the movement runs for the length of the melody. Watching the gear train work is a large part of why this wooden model kit gets displayed rather than boxed.
Wind Up Music Movement, No Batteries
The music movement is mechanical, driven by the same wind-up spring, so there is no wiring or battery compartment anywhere in the build. The wooden body acts as a sound chamber and warms the waltz tune, which is the main thing separating this laminated wood model from a plastic carousel ornament.
384 Piece Laminated Wood Build, 4.5 Hours
The kit ships as pre-cut laminated wood boards with numbered parts. Expect roughly 4.5 hours of assembly for a builder aged 14 or over, working with the illustrated instructions. It is an intermediate mechanical puzzle, harder than a flat wooden model but well inside reach for someone who has finished one kit before.
