Hot Air Engine that Powers an LED
This working Stirling engine model converts heat into mechanical motion and then into electricity. A spirit flame drives the piston, the flywheel spins up, and the onboard dynamo feeds a USB socket that lights the included LED lamp, making the full energy conversion visible in one desktop demonstration.
How This Hot Air Stirling Engine Works
The included alcohol lamp heats the displacer cylinder. Air expands, pushes the power piston, and turns the flywheel. A belt carries that motion to a small dynamo, which generates current at the USB-A output and lights the supplied LED lamp, so heat, motion, and electrical output are all observable on one running engine model.
Zinc Alloy Construction
The miniature engine is machined from zinc alloy with an electroplated gold finish. Precision bearings keep the flywheel turning smoothly through repeat runs, and the weighted base holds the metal engine model steady on a desk or lab bench.
