Robot Building Kit for Adults with AI Vision
The OmniVision Pro is a programmable robot building kit for adults and students built around a Raspberry Pi controller, four mecanum wheels, and a pan tilt camera. It drives forward, sideways, and diagonally without turning, and runs Python code for computer vision tasks such as face tracking, line following, and gesture recognition.
Omnidirectional Mecanum Wheel Drive
Each mecanum wheel drives independently, so the robot car strafes, rotates in place, and threads through tight spaces that a two wheel drive chassis cannot handle. That makes it a practical platform for classroom navigation exercises and maze projects.
Camera Vision and AI Projects
A wide angle 480P camera sits on a 2DOF pan tilt mount with 180 degrees of horizontal travel and 130 degrees of vertical travel. Combined with the onboard vision library, it supports face detection and tracking, gesture and finger counting, QR code triggered actions, and colour based target following.
Autonomous Line Following
A 4 channel line follower works alongside the camera so the robot can drive a marked route on its own, react to path changes, and hand control back to the app at any point.
Raspberry Pi Brain and Python Coding
The chassis accepts a Raspberry Pi 4B or Raspberry Pi 5. Beginners can start from the supplied Python examples, while experienced makers can write their own OpenCV routines and drive the robot over VNC from a PC.
App Control and Expansion
The WonderPi app for iOS and Android switches between control modes and AI games without reprogramming, which is useful for demonstrations. The aluminum alloy chassis carries anti blocking servos and mounting points for extra electronic modules and building blocks.
