Swing Ride Carousel Kit with LED Lighting
This wooden model kit builds a fairground swing ride carousel that works as a music box. A hidden touch switch starts the melody, lights the base and canopy, and sets the suspended chairs turning around a mirrored central pillar.
What the Carousel Music Box Does
- Rotating swing chairs: red and white flying chairs hang from the canopy on fine chains and swing outward as the top ring turns
- Mirrored centre pillar: a six sided column faced with mirror panels bounces the interior light around the ride while it rotates
- Illuminated carved panels: translucent side panels are cut with hollow patterns so warm light reads through them rather than around them
- Hidden touch switch: a concealed touch sensor in the base runs the music and lighting, leaving the fairground silhouette uninterrupted
- Retro canopy roof: the scalloped valance, flagpole and painted ceiling follow classic amusement park carousel styling

Carousel Decor and Gift Ideas
The build is a layered one, working up from the base ring to the canopy, and the chair assembly is where the patience goes because each seat hangs from its own linkage. Most builders spread it across two or three sittings rather than one.
