CISON V8 Flathead 44CC Engine That Runs
This is a working gasoline internal combustion engine, not a static display model. The CISON V8-440 flathead is a 1/6 scale small-block V8 supplied as a KIT version, so you assemble the complete engine yourself and then run it on pump gasoline.
How This V8 Engine Kit Runs
- Runs on 92 octane gasoline and above, lubricated with 10W50 2T engine oil
- Electric start from a 6V to 12V power source
- Distributor ignition with a high-performance CDI unit, frequency 42000
- Uses 1/4-32 ME8 spark plugs
- Water-cooled by a two-stage gear water pump, with an independent lubrication system
- It burns fuel and produces exhaust, so run the engine outdoors or in a well ventilated workshop

What Builders Do With It
The finished V8 works as a desktop engine model, as a running demonstration of four-stroke mechanics for STEM teaching, or as a power plant for large-scale RC models. An optional generator can be fitted to the crankshaft.
The flathead valve train is what separates this version from the overhead valve V8-440: side valves sit in the block rather than the heads, giving the low, flat cylinder-head profile of a classic American small-block.
