Gasoline V8 Engine Kit That Really Runs

This is a genuine internal combustion V8, supplied as a kit you build yourself. The 44cc small block burns gasoline, is cooled by a circulating water system rather than air, and turns up to 10000 rpm once it is running. It is scaled at 1/6 and machined from metal throughout, so it behaves like a real engine and not like a display prop.

How This V8 Differs From a Display Model

• Real combustion: eight cylinders on a four stroke cycle, fired by a distributor and CDI ignition on 92 octane gasoline
• Water cooling: a double layer gear water pump circulates coolant, which is what lets it hold high rpm
• Own oil system: an independent lubrication circuit with a mount for an oil filter and a sump with a level gauge
• Real output: around 4.8 hp in OHV form and 3.3 hp as a flathead, enough to drive an RC model or a small generator

Engineering Inside the Kit

• Cylinder block machined on a 5 axis CNC to a repeatability of 0.005 mm
• High angle hardened camshaft carried on four supports, with intake valves larger than the exhaust valves
• Crankshaft carried on five supports, with reinforced wear resistant connecting rods
• Option for dual cast iron piston rings, with room to add an oil ring
• Electroplated finish over the machined metal parts

Running It Safely

• Recommended for ages 16 and up, and for builders who already understand small engines
• Fuel is 92 octane gasoline or higher, with 10W50 2T engine oil for lubrication
• Starting uses a 6 to 12 V supply, typically a 2S or 3S lipo battery
• Run it only in a ventilated space, away from anything flammable, and follow the manual before every start
